new year’s post
(meme can be found on deviantART: here)
i wanted to do a quick recap of 2009! it was a great year for art, i found subjects i was interested in drawing, i found stories and characters i’m thrilled to continue to work with, and my style has really brought itself out! i did pretty well freelance-wise, and some work of mine is actually getting published this month in a RPG supplement book! (photos will be posted as soon as i receive said book) the only real resolution i can think of is: keep it going!
so above is my art summary for 2009! i explored a lot of different things before i found what i really loved to do! of course, i will continue exploring. my favorite part, is both August and December have someone being nailed in the face with something. i will also continue to explore more of this as well.
and since i love color, above is my 2009 palette breakdowns! obviously, i’m in love with that brown color you get when you mix blue with orange – i didn’t realize it was my favorite color…and i totally broke away from the muted at the end of the year. my color resolution for this year is to explore new relationships outside of my love affair with orange and blue! (good luck…)
lastly, i wanted to show the evolution of the GBM characters! i doubt this will be the last design refinement, this is actually only the first. my GBM resolution is to love it more than i already do! i want to make more GBM art outside of strips, and make some fun stuff for the readers! a note about the 2nd picture: i didn’t face them one way or another on purpose, but it actually works for each of their personalities! it’ll be a good year for subconscious design!
